Hello :-)
I’m excited because my birthday is coming up. Not counting today.. it’s 25 days away! Ever since I was 21 I partied my ass off for my birthday… I decided against it this year… well against going to the club. I’m just not feeling any clubs like that at the moment.

So that Friday… GTL and I are having a “gathering.” We have these every so often. We invite friends over just because and we supply all the alcohol (except beer & wine) and food. People just come. We play tons of drinking games and just have a really good time bugging out. I know that since it’s my birthday I’m going to get so many fifths of Hennessy. I can’t wait!

Saturday… My part-time job renting out a suite at the Orioles game for us to have a company picnic. GTL & I are supposed to go. I’m still debating that one b/c I really don’t know them people like that and I’m really not trying to meet them either b/c on my small interactions w/ some of the engineers… they’re snobs. LOL. My brother is putting on a show. He has various Rap and R&B acts going on – different people from Baltimore. I hope it’s a success. But I’ll be there to support & I’m trying to get my friends to go with me.

Sunday… It’s a surprise. GTL won’t tell me.

Monday (the 25th) is my actual birthday. I will be sleeping in because I took off!

I can’t wait until this upcoming Monday because I’ll be off. I’ve been working everyday since August 22nd. That will be a well needed break! Where I will be doing nothing! I don’t remember the last time someone I know has had a real cookout for Labor Day. I might throw something on the grill… depends on how I feel when I finally get up.

I really love my new job!! I’ve been here for 7 weeks now and it’s great!! My co-workers and boss are awesome. I only come across a handful of idiots throughout the week. I love that Lockheed wants you to advance (within the company of course.) They offer mentoring programs and training courses & make it easy for you get reimbursed from school!! I’ll definitely be here for a while. Which is great because I’m just entering my 3rd year in the career world and I would be really upset if I would’ve been looking for a new job.

I don’t really have much to blog about… but I’ve been slacking on posting & it’s not because I’m too busy to do so.. cause I stay commenting! LOL. So I just threw something together. Have a good weekend.

Oh! And shout out to the new bloggers I've found this past month.. BlkButterfly, RoycesDaughter, T. Cas, Robert Mack, The Mistress, MzNewAgenda, & MsNHim. (I know I'm missing people but I'm tired & ready to go home so I can't think straight.) When I stop being lazy, I'll add ya'll to my blog roll!

Meme to end all memes
I got this meme from my boy Freaky Deaky. He’s been on a meme kick this week… and this one I kinda liked, so I stole it! Only thing I didn’t like was that some of the questions were asked more than once, but in a different way.

Part 1: The Birth of You

Were you a planned baby?
Yes. My mother made sure that I knew that I wasn’t a mistake.

Were you the first?
Yes.

Were your parents married when you were born?
Nope.. and still aren’t

What is your birth date?
It’s coming up! So I’ll be expecting gifts :-) It’s September 25, 1982 (I’ll be 24 for you non-math majors)

Part 2: The Family

How would you describe your family?
Full of females… I don’t know.. we’re close in the sense that we can depend on each other in times of need… but we’re not so close that we’re included in our daily routines – I’m lying… some of my cousins/aunts are like that. I’m just not.

Are your parents married?
Didn’t I just answer this? No

Siblings or an only child?
Only child to my mom. I have a little sister because of my dad.

What are your siblings names?
Tiarra.

Do you have step parents?
If my parents aren’t married… then how could that be possible?

Part 3: The Friends

Do you have more than one best friend?
Yes… 3. GTL is my best friend. My “brother” is my best friend… I’m the female version of him. We’ve known each other since we were 12. My homegirl Ericka that lives in Charlotte. We’ve been friends since I was 19.

What do you like to do when you are together?
GTL… none of your business! LOL. Sike… we do everything together… so it’s hard to answer this question for him. My “brother” – we’re more phone friends. When we do see each other, it’s usually at a party that one of us is having & we’re there to support. Ericka is kind of the same in regards to being a phone friend, but only b/c she lives in Charlotte… but we usually just bug out & reminisce about our college days together. Or trip off of her daughter b/c she is off the hook!

Do you share the same interests?
I don’t think they’d be my friend if we didn’t share the same interests…

Which friend can you tell anything to?
GTL and Ericka are the ones that I usually tell any and everything to. My brother knows a lot… but some things I just don’t tell him.

Part 4: Your Personality

How high/low is your self-esteem?
My self-esteem is high. Don’t you read my blog? I’m conceded. LOL! Of course there are some things that I wouldn’t mind changing, but I don’t let those minor things change my overall view of myself.

Do you get depressed about things easily?
No… It’s weird cause some things in my life I should be really depressed about… but I can’t change it so I don’t stress over it. But I think my feelings about certain things come out when I watch movies/shows… because if it is remotely similar to something going on in my life.. I cry. But once it’s over… I’m back to my normal self!

Are you an extrovert or an introvert?
Depends… am I drunk? LOL. Really.. it depends on the environment. I can be very friendly and somewhat talkative to people I’ve just met if it’s in an environment that calls for me to do so. But I’m not one to spark a conversation w/ someone standing in front of or behind me in a long ass line just to help the time go by fast. And once I meet you… it will take me a minute to open up to you completely b/c I don’t you…

Are you happy?
That question reminds me of TI’s song… how you gonna act like that? LOL. But yes, I’m happy.

Do you live life to the fullest?
I guess. I try new things (not food!) I travel. I try my best to participate in various activities (even though it may burn me out)

Part 5: Appearance

Are you comfortable with the way you look?
For the most part.

Would you change anything about your appearance if you could?
Sure – who wouldn’t?

Do you have any piercings besides your ears?
My belly button is pierced.

Describe your hair?
Right now… braids. Normally… long and straight.

Part 6: The Past

Were you a strange child?
Strange to who? I don’t think so… cause I do see some strange ass kids these days! And I don’t think I ever acted like that growing up…

What did you use to love that you no longer do?
Being outside. I used to stay outside tripping with my friends. Now… there are too many bugs out there for me! And I don’t do bugs – at all! Plus the weather seems to never work with you. It’s either too damn hot or too damn cold – there’s never a median (unless it’s raining)

Do you have the same friends?
I’m still friends with 2 dudes I grew up with. I still keep in contact with another 2 people I knew when I was younger… but I wouldn’t consider them my “friend.”

Was there anything in your past that was traumatizing?
No… not really (at least I can’t remember)

Part 7: The Future

What is your dream?
To live a long, healthy, and happy life… and for my future children to do the same.

Are you scared of growing old?
No. “I ain’t never scared!” LOL. It’s inevitable, so why be scared? Plus you’re only as old as you feel/act.

Do you want to get married?
Yes… I’m just waiting on my ring.

LOL!

Part 8: The Outdoors

Do you prefer indoors or outdoors?
Indoors. Bugs are outside.

What is your favorite season?
The late spring b/c the weather is pretty nice & it’s not raining as much as it is in the earlier part of the season. But also fall because that’s when my birthday is and I get gifts!

Favorite weather?
Warm. Mostly Sunny. Highs about 83. (I sound like a weatherman! LOL)

Do you like walking in the rain?
That’s how you get sick! I prefer to either sit on the porch while it’s raining or to sit by an open window/door.

Part 9: Food

Are you a vegetarian?
No. Far from it!

What is your favorite food?
I don’t know… I like bar-b-q ribs… fried chicken… I guess you can say my favorite food group is meat.

What food makes you want to gag?
Peas. I actually did gag off of them once when I was little – my dad tried to make me eat them… I spit them bad boys right back out into my napkin & refused to eat them. Onions as well… I don’t like the way they feel in my mouth.

What is your favorite restaurant?
Bertucci’s. I also like Ruby Tuesdays.

Part 10: Experiences

What was one of your greatest experiences?
When we played our championship game at the Bryce Jordan Center. The rush I felt at the beginning of the game is indescribable.

Have you ever done drugs?
Yes. I’ve smoked weed a couple of times. It smells great… But I don’t do drugs anymore. (not unless you consider alcohol a drug)

Have you ever thought you were going to die?
Yes. One time I got drunk out of my mind with my brother & a few other homeboys of ours. We were drinking at a park. Then it was time to go home. The dude that was driving was all in the bushes going around curves… I just knew I wasn’t going to make it home! But I did… unharmed. Now that I think about it... growing up I did a lot of dumb ass shit where I could've died... luckily the Lord was (is) with me and always seen (sees) me through my adolescence (craziness.)

Anniversary in Niagara Falls
GTL and I had a wonderful time in Niagara Falls. FYI… This is going to be a long post… if you don’t feel like reading then come back when you do!

FRIDAY

We got up at 6AM to start our day. We headed to my grandmother’s and she took us to the airport. I don’t think I’ll do Southwest again. Yes their flights are cheap… but I want a seat! GTL and I got to the airport nice and early and still got C-class. Luckily, my home-girl informed me to go sit in line as soon as I get there, so we were able to sit together. The flight lasted only an hour and then we got the rental and headed to the border. The ride or the wait at the border wasn’t too bad. And then our hotel (without traffic) was like 5 minutes from the border.

We stayed at the Renaissance. We got there about 12PM. The room wasn’t ready yet. They let us know we had until 4PM for them to have the room, but took our phone number to call us just in case it was ready earlier (which it was.)

In the meantime, we went to the casino & walked around. And then went to lunch at Hooters (my first experience.) Their wings are pretty damn good! Then as we were walking around to the other end of the street, the hotel called us to let us know the room was ready. So once we got situated, made our calls to let everyone know we arrived safely, and then cut off the phones… we took a nap!!

When we woke up, we went swimming. It was some bad ass kids in the pool, but it was all good because we were so wrapped up into each other we just ignored them. Then we got in the shower, got dressed and then went to eat dinner at Johnny Rockets. Pretty good burgers (would’ve been better if they left the onions off like I asked them to!) And from there we went to the casino to gamble. And we were there for like an hour and I realized why I love GTL so much… we both hate losing! Especially money!! So we both were like “I’m not feeling this! Let’s be out.” And we never set foot back in the casino again! And I think the main reason we didn’t stay a little longer was because the drinks…. were NOT free!!! What casino does not serve free drinks?!?!?

We went back to the room and took another shower (because we smelled like smoke – you allow nasty ass smoking in your casino, but don’t want to offer free drinks!) Anyways… we got dressed. Went to see some fireworks above the falls...

Then headed to Rumours Night Club. It was cool. They played top 40 hits all night long. What was hot was that they had TV’s all throughout and they switched from the videos of the songs they played to shots of the crowd on the dance floor. The only bad thing about the club is that they use a machine to make your drinks… oh! And they didn’t have Hennessy =( But back to the machine. The bartender enters the type of drink it is, and the machine dispenses EXACTLY one shot amount into the cup w/ your chaser of choice. As ya’ll know from my previous posts… I drink… a lot… I have a very high tolerance… so after 2 shots of tequila and 3 Courvoisier and cokes… I had a BUZZ… that’s crazy! I should’ve been drunk out of my mind, out on the dance floor w/ the rest of those white chicks… but I wasn’t…. GTL and I sat on the stage that overlooked the dance floor and danced in our seats.

But it was cool until about 1:15 and then they started playing techno and that was our queue to be out!

SATURDAY

August 19th is our anniversary. So when we woke up, we exchanged gifts. We were both were very happy with what we got. It rained all damn day... but we didn't let it stop us!

We went on a tour of Niagara Falls with Niagara Adventures. We did a lot with the tour. We went on the “Maid of the Mist” which is a boat ride through the falls. It’s takes you past the American Falls and does a U-turn at the Horseshoe (Canadian) Falls. We got a lot of amazing pictures on this ride. We got a little wet too… but not as wet as those on top of the boat… they were SOAKED!

Then we did lunch at the Tour (I forget the name of it) But it goes up like 600 feet into the air and you get a great view of the falls while you eat.

Then we did some historical Niagara site seeing… learned a lot… Like there were 19 crazy ass motherfuckers purposely jumped over falls – which move at like 60 something miles per hour and the drop is close to like 200 feet and the water is like 60 something feet deep. Of those 19, 14 people survived – all women. All the dudes died. There was a six year old boy that fell off the falls and survived… And then we took a Journey behind the falls. (You probably can’t tell what the hell this is – but it’s the falls up close and personal)

We went to a butterfly conservatory. Butterflies were everywhere. I don’t do bugs… any type of insect or flying creatures. Especially when there are thousands of them flying all around you and coming and landing on you.

So we left there REAL quick! About mid-way through the trip, GTL and I were exhausted!!

We boarded the bus about 10:45AM and returned about 6:20PM – that was a long ass day! So when we got back, we took a nap!

When we woke up, we went to dinner in our hotel on the top floor at the Rooftop Restaurant. We had a lovely dinner… the food was ok… but just the ambiance and the view and each other made the dinner great. We had a contest… Like a week before we left for the trip, I tried my entire outfit on for dinner and my mother & I confirmed that I looked good. So I called GTL and told him that I’m going to look gorgeous at our anniversary dinner so for him to step his game up! LMAO! Don’t get me wrong, my baby can dress his ass off… I told him that I was just kidding, but he took it to heart because he knows that he’s a well-dressed man. He knows how to dress for the occasion. So he went out and got a really nice outfit…

...but it wasn’t fucking with mine. LOL!!

Just playing… he looked really nice. You can’t tell from the pictures, but his pants is pin-striped with sky blue to match his shirt… and so is his tie. But we were shittin on everyone else in the restaurant! LOL! (“I’m conceded… I gotta reason” – Remy Ma)

After dinner we were going to go to DragonFly Night Club. But after we made our JT or T-N-J (Jack Daniels, Hennessy & Pepsi - wonderful! by the way) we opted to stay in the room for the evening.

SUNDAY

We slept in as late as we could. And then we got up and headed to Rochester, NY to see GTL’s good buddy from college, Hasaan.

That was a LONG-ASS-RIDE!!! With nothing to see! And it should’ve only taken 90 minutes, but trying to get back in the US took about 45 min (and mind you the border was only 5 minutes away from our hotel!)

We got there and I had 2 glasses of wine and was pretty tipsy! (In my defense - I’m not a big wine drinker, so my tolerance for wine isn’t that high, plus I barely ate breakfast) Hasaan kept trying to get me drunk, but I knew I needed something to eat. So we went to the Olive Garden and just laughed it up! They were going line for line from the movie Talledega Nights… that movie is already funny as hell… Add that to my two glasses of wine and some Sangria…. I was cracking up. Then we went back to Hasaan’s and watch Scary Movie 4. The movie is funny – but either get it on black market or wait for it to come out on DVD… because it wasn’t hilarious… I took a nap during some movie and woke up to watch Nick Cannon’s show – that’s funny as hell. We got back to the hotel about 1AM.

MONDAY

We didn’t want to leave but we knew we had to. We did Hooter’s one more before we left because I really liked their wings. Plus we had a coupon. We went souvenir shopping and then headed back to the airport. Reality hit us when we walked through the airport to check-in. *sigh* Next get-away (planned anyway) is in December… we’ll be headed to Vegas with my family and our friends. Can’t wait!!!!

ONLY NEGATIVE

I know this isn’t true… but this is how we felt…. For Canada to allow people to start drinking at age 18… they sure as hell make it hard for them to do it!!! We didn’t see ONE liquor store while we were there. The bottles of Jack & Hennessy that we had were small bottles that I was able to pack in my suitcase… but when we crossed in Ontario… the lady asked me did I have any alcohol… so I don’t think I was supposed to have it. Again… I like to drink… and so does GTL…. The only time I was drunk the entire trip was when we went to NY and I was done off of some wine! LOL. GTL wasn’t drunk at all…. What a bummer…. That won’t be the case in Vegas though! Cause the casino’s serve you FREE alcohol.

I felt like shit - I need a new spot
I no longer want to party at Iguana Cantina. True, the special that they offer on Friday night is irresistible…. But my health is much more important. Friday nights, ladies pay $5 and drink free all night long… but they serve us cheap shit. I don’t like the taste of cheap rum… so I stick to the vodkas. I usually get Pineapple and Vodka. Every time I go to this club…. I feel like this the next day.

(stolen from kween :-D )

My system is used to having this good shit in it.

Something smooth & great tasting. Something that no matter how much I drink I won’t be sick (except for a fifth to myself. LOL) And I won’t have a hangover the next day. But since Iguana serves this shit (or something like it)

….I have been sick all damn day today. I’ve been sleeping in between trips to the bathroom to get that crap out of my system. I finally HAD to get up at 2:30 to start getting ready for work. I think I finally sobered up at 4PM when I walked into the building.

I don’t like being sick.. I don’t care if the night before was worth it, being sick sucks. Paying $8.50 for Hennessy & Coke at a club when I can get something else for free just doesn't seem sane to me. LOL. So I’m going to avoid that temptation of drinking for free altogether and not go to this club anymore. Damn I miss Hammer Jacks…. Their drink free included top-shelf shit… Plus the crowd of Iguana has changed…It’s not how it used to be and I don’t think I like it. It was mainly white & my girls and I could go and have a great time without be harassed by too many people in the club. Now so many niggas are in there…. I have a man… I don’t need niggas asking me “What you doing tonight?” and when I respond “Going home to my husband.” They act all stupid like, “If you married, what you doing in the club?” Bitch! Just cause your insecure, over-possessive ass don’t want you girl in the club, don’t mean that all dudes is like that! And not everybody comes to the club looking to find a man or someone to fuck! I can come just to party… Geesh! So I’m going to have to find a new spot.

I’m exhausted
GTL and I have been non-stop since Wednesday starting with the MJB show. Thursday we went to this Hennessy event. Friday we went to the crab feast. Saturday was part two of the experiment. And last night we went to this party. I can’t believe I’m at work!!!

I’ve already given my synopsis of the MJB show (if you missed it, read the previous post.)

Thursday:

I was in love.

If you can’t tell – that’s a bar full of Hennessy! Nothing but Hennessy! Can you say I was in heaven? And… it was ALL FREE!!! Check out this site to see when they’re coming to your city: http://www.hennessyartistry.com/ . They had it so that we could taste how 4 different countries enjoy their Hennessy. Hennessy Paris included Hennessy, Triple Sec, and Pineapple Juice. Hennessy Moscow was Hennessy w/ a sugared lemon. Hennessy Shanghai was Hennessy and Ginger Ale. Hennessy New York was the classic Hennessy & Coke. I tasted all of them… Hennessy Paris is a little too sweet for my taste… I think I’ll stick with my classic. But is was soooo beautiful how they had the place set up. They had various globes w/ Hennessy inside of them. Signs of the scenery from each country w/ the drinks placed in front of them.

Friday:

Crabs, crabs, and more crabs! It was wonderful at the crab feast. Open bar, unlimited crabs & food – what more can you ask for? I’m at work right now, so I can’t post pics b/c I forgot to email them to myself – I’ll post them some time this week. But fun times were had by all. This year the Delta’s got a different DJ… he was cool, but I didn’t hear as much line dance music as I would’ve liked to hear. There was a lot of old school – so old school that I didn’t know/remember any of the words to the songs… unlike a certain someone that went with us. She was rapping ALL of the words and dancing like how they were in the videos… Hilarious!!! Eventually they played something that made me want to shake my booty a little bit, so GTL and I hit the dance floor and stayed there until the lights came on.

Saturday:

This experiment were 2 members short than the last experiment, but it was still all good. I have some very incriminating pictures of a fellow blogger… but I won’t post them… that wouldn’t be nice… and I already have a few readers that think I’m mean and whenever I state the obvious… I didn’t have a good time. And I don’t anyone to think that I didn’t enjoy Experiment 2 because I did. But! I will post this one… Who does this guy look like to you?

Doesn’t he look like the old dude from the Six Flags commercials? LMAO!!!

We came up with five drinks that are now in the BJ’s book… really four – but one of them have 2 names because GTL and I had to use what we wanted to use without compromising (LOL.) The first drink is called a Quinton Terrantino aka Q.T. It had Jose Cuervo, Jack Daniels, OJ & Pineapple Juice – definitely a shooter. It was decent, but not better than the UnFuckinBelievable… It consists of Hennessy, 151, Triple Sec, Slow Gin, Cranberry Juice, & Sprite. Don’t try to steal our drinks…. We already have a trademark on them! LOL. The third was a Yesterday??? This drink is incomplete.. so far we have Jose Cuervo & Patron and I think lime juice… The fourth and fifth one is called a JT or a T-N-J. It consists of Jack Daniels, Hennessy, and Coke. We didn’t taste it… so who knows what it tastes like. LMAO! But if you know us… you know why we made it & why we called it what we did. We still have to come up w/ the ingredients for the drink WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!! Something that’s going to knock you off of your ass…. We’ll come up with that on the next experiment.

Then we went to see Talladega Nights. OMG… this movie is soooo fucking funny! I didn’t even want to see it because I thought it was just going to be dumb – it was just funny as hell!!!!

After the movies… we went home. I crashed for the rest of the night. I woke up at 11PM to eat some chicken & wash my hair and then I went right back to sleep!

Sunday:

Got up early and spent 8 long ass hours getting my hair braided – but I look cute, so it was worth it :-). Two of GTL’s friends felt left out from the experiment so they went to the bar again. They didn’t get as drunk as we were on Sat… but they were cool. Then Kiya and I went to this wack ass party for the 30 & over crowd…. We only went b/c this dude from the barber shop that always comes into the bar for some snacks or something when we do our experiments asked us to come. We stayed about an hour and dipped… then we went to Have A Nice Day Café for a party… took too long to get going, so we left about 12:30 or so…

Today:

I’m at work…. Dragging…. Can’t wait to go home and take a nap!

The Breakthrough!!
First let me say… Camera phones SUCK!!! I took a few pictures last night that I wanted to post… they don’t look good at all! So never mind.

OK – I was always a MJB fan, but after last night – I LOVE MJB!!! Do you hear me?!? Her show was wonderful. All three sets did well. Here’s my review of the show without going into too much detail because some of ya’ll haven’t gone YET. Hey Yaz!!!

Toya can sing! She only lip-synched one song & that’s because she was just jumping all around the stage dancing her ass off. But she did well. It was a little shorter than I expected, but I guess that’s because she’s still kind of new and the crowd couldn’t really sing along and get pumped with her.

Jaheim is a glitter fool!!! I don’t know if they switch up their outfits at each location… but this nigga was glittered out! But he looked good. And I always thought he sounded a little like Luther to me… but he sang one of Luther’s songs and confirmed it! He can sing his “ghetto” ass off!

Mary, Mary, Mary. What can I say about Mary? She’s the shit! That’s what I’ll say. She sang like damn near every song from The Breakthrough along with some classics. One song… not going to mention the name of it… she didn’t even sing it… she just put her mic out to the crowd and let us sing (that’s how pumped the crowd was!)

It was a damn good show & I’d pay to go see it again!!!

But of course… no matter how good something is, I can never go through the event without complaining about something… I like for shit to be perfect… sue me! Anyways…. We had really decent seats (in comparison to the stage.) But we were right by the entrance and ya’ll black motherfuckers can never come on time for shit!!! People kept coming in and would stop dead in the middle like they’re made of glass or something. That blew the shit out of me. And just because they turn the lights on in between acts does NOT mean that you HAVE to get up! The intermissions were SHORT! So what does that mean? When the next act was about to start… ya’ll fat fucks (yes fat fucks!!) were in my way… AGAIN!!! I think that’s the only thing I really complained about… because the show started on time!!! Which I was happy about.

But!!! I saw this thing!! LMAO! It was 6’9. It had boobs and booty bigger than mines! And it had a wig on. I didn’t want to stare… but I couldn’t tell if it was a man or woman. I saw it twice. First time… I was like “that is soooo a man!” But then I got a better look the second time… it didn’t have any manly features!! So I don’t know what it was. But everyone that saw it… was cracking up! The one guard called it a swamp creature. LMAO! It was one point where this nobody was singing and everyone was sitting down… Swamp creature was standing up all by itself and you could NOT miss it! LOL!!

And it was hot like fire in there because all the queens were out! Flaming!!!!! Don’t get me wrong… I’m not homophobic or anything…. But sometimes they can be a little too much…. Like this one dude had on GREEN boots. WTF?!? LOL!

But all in all the show was AWESOME!!!

Off of MJB… Sorry Honey-Libra… My brother sucks and will not be having the party this weekend. But! If you want to get up early and spend the day drinking (LMAO) we’re doing the “experiment” again… Going to the bar at 10AM just because… That should be fun! Let me know if you're interested.
